Yes. This is the REVOLUTION CIRCUS.
A live musical concept that has its roots in primal gatherings and restless outrage. There are no specific cries for any particular cause as we are many with just as many views but we do stand united under the banner of the skull and cross bones. Witness our presentation and you will be fed the industrial hybrid death rock of Apocalypse Theatre who have set the tone for this rock and roll experiment. Then add the ultra rocket blazing fire kiss to your face by glam ally Mercury Mad and the hard rocking song craft of Raymond Breed. Then mix that with blood &  guts horror punk of Mommy Sez No! (during the East Coast severed leg)

But thats not all~!!! What would a circus be without some heavy metal animals to let loose on the unsuspecting audience. We are proud to add our newest heathens “ILLUSIONS FATE” who will fuse traces of Grunge, Blues, Industrial, Alt, Rock and more into a new brand of Metal the world has never heard before.

Toss all this in a gourmet rocker brain salad of video walls, regional support, sideshows, comics & burlesque and we have the ingredients to a beautiful killer chaos bloom for you to pick and choose your favorite moments as no two nights are ever the same.

This is The Revolution Circus and depending on the night you attend we will deliver anywhere from a ultra condensed 50-60 minute cacophony that includes material from all of us and some  combined mutations to a full blown two hour (or even longer) show.

We are still seeking others for a wide range of task from opening bands & songwriters to sideshows, dancers, comedy in regional areas for one night support and for the long term. We also need teks who can run the video walls & record, run lights , drive. & help stage manage.  APOX is also seeking another singer of the enchanting female grrrl variety for recording and touring.

JUNE 2012 includes Ft. Wayne IN, Bloomington IN, Indianapolis IN, Chicago IL, Detroit MI, Twin Cities MN, Kansas City MO, Wichita KS, Tulsa OK, Dallas TX, Austin TX, Houston TX,  San Antonio TX and more TBA. Stay tuned for news regarding summer encampments in industrial wastelands and wilderness locations where we take this concept to a new level.

I played a show in Joplin MO after a string of lucrative, familiar and excessive shows in various awesome venues. But on Tuesday March 27 we were playing Joplin Missouri’s underground.  (May 22, 2011)
I had warned the crew that I was not sure what to expect because contact with the promoter was spotty and I didn’t really know what kind of underground venue it was. Maybe a basement in a house or a living room. A lot of questions followed and I said “I really don’t know. I booked this because I wanted adventure and surprise, because the promoter caught my attention and why not. Its a Tuesday & we have no where else to go.”
I was actually nervous.
I don’t know why. I have played 1000s of shows. Once upon a time ago basement shows peppered our trail of endless days,weeks and months. But that was before our APOX storm of change and loss and some of these Apox crew were new. So I was nervous as we drove down Main Street past the atomic blast F5 area of foundations and damaged structures (We were mostly silent… Paying our respects to the 100+ who lost lives in the F5 storm) and then we drove into the surviving part of the city towards The Cesspool Castle.

Upon arriving @ our destination I saw a half dozen punks and Joplin kids sitting on the edge of a stone wall about 5 feet high. A wall that was also a foot or more thick and connected to a very large stone 3 story house ( bldg?) that just simply stood out from all the rest of the houses in the area. It looked like a castle, like a stone fortress that could take on an F5.

The crowd was as curious about us as we were about them and after me & some of APOX engaged them with smiles & light conversation as they pointed us the way to the dungeon. It was a large dungeon, two maybe 3 times bigger than some venues we have performed in. It was wall to wall covered in DIY soundproofing & graffiti posters. The stage was framed thick with Christmas lights sprouting from the ceiling/walls and stage.  A full PA and a band were already onstage preparing to play as it was a little past 6 and it was an early show. Someone told us where the bathrooms were ” up them long stairs and in the kitchen. Don’t let out the cats & kittens, and there is food on the stove and cake in the fridge. ( It was delicious)

To make a long story shorter. The first bands were fun and quite good. The crowd grew a little by the time we played and they all entered the dungeon to see what we were all about. I shook off my nerves and we did what we do thinking they would leave after a few minutes, realizing we were not the music they really get into.
I was wrong.
What followed next was appreciation and when we finished our set they all walked up to us and wanted conversation, to talk to us about Joplin bands and music. They showered us with love and energy. They bought enough merchandise to more than pay for our daily expenses. Thank you thank you they repeated as the tears welled up in me. Just as they are welling up again now while I’m typing. “No, thank you, we said”

They hugged us and they asked us to return. Some of them wanted to maybe some day join our little revolution circus.

It was only 10:00 pm when we walked towards our vans to drive away to meet friends in another city, when a chorus of wolf cries from the steps and walls of this underground fortress began to sing to us. Mercury & Kat turned around and returned the wolf cries followed by the rest of APOX. The streets echoed with the sound of young and old & in-between howling at the moon like a tribe of misfits who know another storm is coming and recognize kindred. We need each other to survive.

Then it happened.
One tear finally burst free, and as it ran down my cheek,

I let out one last wolf cry.

This is why I still fight for this. This is why APOX is still here.

If you are interested or know someone who might be interested in traveling with us, please share this. We have a tour booked that is 9 days 9 shows out of town Friday March 23 to Saturday March 31. We return Sunday April 1st and have a homecoming show Thursday April 5th. We need another vehicle in our fledgling caravan and are seeking  another element to our show with transportation and room for one or two humans. The Revolution Circus will cover your gas. Optimally we would like a freak-show combo/trio or a couple of burlesque style or performance dancers for a few moments in the set to be worked out when we know what we have to work with. If you are a musician and have a small vehicle or a van we could work in a song or two and back you up as your band or you could open the event with a few songs solo style or enhance our tribal industrial dance & noise orgy. You can never have enough drums and screams in those. Or maybe you are a comic or a DJ 7 that works too. The point is we have a cool tour booked and we need/want more cast and crew. But If you just have a car and want a vacation/adventure we could use a  merchandise station attended and  help with taking pictures & camcorder footage during performances too.

3 day event called 2012 begins Thursday DEC 29 @ Big V’s in Saint Paul MN with electro & acoustic offerings topped off with a full band Mercury Mad set. Then on Friday 30 fic.she, The Modern Throwbacks, Mercykill and soemone who hasn’t signed on yet pour sugar on it so that on Saturday we kill 2011 and enter 2012.

I mean its got everything. A great DJ, a VJ, RAPEDOOR & a teaser by APOX ( The 2012 version) woohoo.
and be aware that The Dangerous Angel Saloon is gonna start a tad bit early and end shortly after midnight unless you crave more dance then we might fucking go for it. But get there late and you might miss something cool. OH..did I mention “FREE!”
